I have a DF800 mk2 (fixed beams)
Mast is hold by a shroud in the middle of the hama and a preventer backstay on the rear of the hama.
With good wind and rough sea (Force 5), the traction force of the preventer backstay is high, while the structure of the boat is flexing, submitting the link between hama and beam to high stress. Relative movement are quite noticable. It is difficult to increase the clamping force of the bolt fixing the beam to the central high enough to avoid small movement. Noisy.
To remove some of the load I am thinking to hold the preventer backstay directly on the back side of the central hull.
Did someone already try it?
Best location to install the chainplate?
Use of a synthetic lashing at the mast end to avoid dammaging the aluminium with shackle?
Preventer backstay fit to the central hull instead hama
Mast, Boom, Standing and Running Rigging, Furler System, Reefing, Barberhauler, Lazyjack etc
